My daughter is often shy and reluctant to join in when we have attended kids’ classes previously. But she absolutely loves Nics yoga sessions and even went and sat with Nic on her mat!! Its nice to see her finally starting to join in and she has even been doing the yoga poses at home! Such a fab class!
Wigglebums
WiggleBums is a yoga, mindfulness and sensory play class for preschoolers and their grown-ups.
Each class:
- Develops their language and social skills
- Builds their strength and flexibility
- Provides them with emotional regulation tools
- Increases their body awareness, balance, and coordination
Following a familiar format each week and exploring different themes, each class includes warm-ups, yoga poses, story-telling, mindfulness and sensory play with music from around the world; all designed to support a child’s physical, emotional, mental and spiritual development, while growing a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around.
Plus, you get to do some much needed yoga too!
Suitable from crawling to 5 years
Cultivating Emotional Intelligence
The ability to express and manage one’s emotions with understanding and awareness comes with practice and guidance.
WiggleBums classes are an opportunity to check in with your child giving them a chance to be seen, heard, and acknowledged.
The Yoga flows we teach can help with the day-to-day challenges
of being a child & a grown up.
We’re all in similar boats, all doing our best with the tools we have.
Our classes give a much-needed layer of support.
Each term focuses on a particular theme designed to encourage certain strengths and values in the children. Recognising a child’s inner strengths and talents and reinforcing them through action and repetition helps grow and establish character, which will stand them in good stead as they navigate life.
All of this is effortlessly woven using storytelling and yoga
inspired movement. Strengthening and supporting good posture, helping to recognise body parts, developing spacial awareness, balance and off course having fun.
Sensory Play
Following through with the theme of the term we explore lots of colourful, interesting, tactile age-appropriate toys/objects. Stimulating a natural curiosity, encouraging movement, and developing recognition of touch using role play & imagination.
With a fine selection of music from around the world, the children and their grown-ups get to explore their inner worlds by interacting with the outer world in a fun and playful way.
Each week the children discover a different resource and a different way to play and interact with each other and their environment.
Testimonials
My 2-year-old son and I have been going to toddler since the beginning of January and we love it. I was really nervous first going as I thought it would be hard for my son to stay still to concentrate, but its so much fun and engaging (plus afterwards he has the best nap!). Nicola lovely lady who runs the class is fantastic and makes you all feel comfortable. We have both made new friends along the way and the sessions give you good ideas of things to do at home together
